Amalgam is looking for an experienced model maker and casting technician to join our team.

This person will need to have good general model making skills as well as in-depth knowledge of vacuum casting methods and materials.

Advanced skills in Silicone moulding: being able to produce complex single / multi-cavity moulds. These moulds will be for use in vacuum casting machinery.

The candidate must have an understanding of a variety of resins especially working with Polyurethane resins, as well as an understanding of the fluid mechanics, and the ability to problem solve issues when they arrive.

A fine eye for detail for the construction and finishing of master components is essential.

This should be for either complete fabrication of a component or for finishing of Objet 3D Prints to the desired tolerance levels and finish.

Excellent time management skills are required, and the confidence to run multiple projects effectively, either by heading a team or working solo.

The ability to work with the team positively to ensure projects reach their goals is integral.

High levels of skill are required especially in quality of work / efficiency and work ethic.

At RWDI’s UK office we are offering the opportunity to join a team of Model Makers who are required to build and instrument scaled models for the purpose of wind tunnel testing. To perform this work will require working with a variety of tools and working with various materials meaning good hand skills, an eye for detail and some experience with tools is essential.

We are now seeking an individual to join as an entry level position in our Milton Keynes office as a Junior Model Maker on our Project Resources team. This is a full-time, permanent position (37.5 hours per week) with a starting salary of £16,000 - £17,500 per annum.

The role includes but is not limited to:

Your day will be varied and may at times involve extended periods of shift work including some weekend working as and when required. The basic working day is 08:30 to 16:30, Monday to Friday with a rotating Swing shift (15:00 - 23:00) (Permanent Swing Shift positions are also available).
