Verdigris Jubilee acrylic paint.
The Jubilee acrylic range curate pioneering colours from the 1930s. They are self-levelling, versatile paints that leave a smooth, soft sheen finish on a multitude of surfaces.
Suitable for metal, glass, paper, wood, plastic, fabric, leather, ceramic, stone and more.
*In 4D tests we found that no primer was needed for absorbent surfaces, but a smooth, consistent finish is not possible on hard plastic (eg styrene) without priming the surface first.
Until the 19th century, Verdigris was the most vibrant green pigment available, leading to its use in heraldry, fine art or by anyone who could afford it. A unique example can be seen in the Tudor Garden at Hampton Court Palace where the Heraldic Beasts for King Henry VIII and his wife Jane Seymour are standing on posts of Verdigris and white.
